GBIM was delighted to be sponsoring Sean Shibe (guitar) with Quatuor Van Kuijk (string quartet) at the Northern Aldborough Festival.
Sean is one of the most talked-about artists performing today and combined his guitar with the French Quatuor Van Kuijk string quartet in a collaboration of quintets by Boccherini, Steven Mackey and Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Sean was the first guitarist ever to be selected for BBC Radio 3’s New Generation Artists scheme, to be awarded a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship and in 2018 to receive the Royal Philharmonic Society Award for Young Artists. The string quartet are celebrating their ten year anniversary with a number of special programmes, including the complete cycle of Mendelssohn Quartets, a new commission by French composer Benjamin Attahir, and a programme of French melodies “Parisiennes” specially arranged for string quartet.
It was a great day where clients and intermediaries enjoyed bubbly in the sunshine followed by the concert. We continue to support the much-loved Festival, and contribute to the cultural landscape of the region.
